Our world is a veneer over the layers of history, and investigating these layers is at the heart of all my painting. I'm fascinated by the scratched and rugged remains of ancient walls and floor tiles; the elements crusted by time, rising to the surface, still imprinted by the past they have survived. My Stripe Series seeks to bridge the character of those walls and tiles to evoke a feeling of the past brought to the present.

My recent paintings, the Balance Series, are meant to be reflective of our current place in history. They balance vibrant contemporary colors with vivid and sharp patterns to capture a certain edginess. These paintings aim to find balance amid our society’s chaos of endless distractions.
